Course Overview:
Students will be enrolled in this class for the entire year, and The Course 2 Glencoe Literature Anthology will serve as the basis of the curriculum, along with: Elizabeth George Speare's The Sign of the Beaver, Christopher Paul Curtis's The Watsons Go to Birmingham, personal reading/book report books, and nonfiction articles. We will cover various genres of literature, such as: short stories, novels, poetry, nonfiction, and folktales/myths. Along with this, students will be enhance their skills in spelling and vocabulary as well as both informal writing and formal writing.

One of the fun things we will be doing is learning latin roots, reading many different genres, completing several writing projects, and giving presentations!
